Saturday's Atlantic Queen Trip

This was one of those days when whale watching seems very easy.  Lots of whales, great passengers and a beautiful sunny day!!

The only hard thing was getting good looks at whales, at least in the beginning (our patience was rewarded at the end). The whales must have been feeding on something yummy because they were zig-zagging around, taking very quick breaths at the surface and then heading down for more.  There were a total of 5-6 humpbacks and at least 4 minke whales, all right around the same area.

We've identified one humpback so far - "Sloop," a female who was born in 1987:

Sloop

Our first whale was this one - we haven't ID'd it yet, but will post its identity here if we do:

And then we got some close looks at another humpback, who frustratingly didn't give us a good ID shot, but made up for it with some surfacings in the middle of a bubble cloud, right near the boat!

All in all, a terrific day out there and I really enjoyed talking with all of our visitors - thank you so much for your support and hope to see you again soon!
