Finally a beautiful day for watching whales. We left Newburyport with an enthusiastic group of passengers, including many dads of all ages and many first time whale watchers. Our first 2 Humpbacks were "Gondolier" first seen in 1992 and "Pinball" (one of our adopt a whales" who were spending alot time below the surface searching for food. We waited patiently and got a few good looks. The two went there separate ways and we decided to spend more time with Pinball, our decision did not disappoint! Pinball was blowing bubble clouds around us and coming up for a few close looks. Pinball was born in 1989 and has had 5 calves to date, her last calf in 2008, could she be pregnant again? Only time will tell. Congratulations to Erik Lindquist who won our raffle today, Erik won a "Owl" adoption, another favorite humpback whale at the Blue Ocean Society. Thanks to all who joined us!
