Dolphins were in abundance today! These animals, locals to the Gulf of Maine, have been infrequently seen so far this summer. We were lucky to see a couple groups of them and to make it better, they were quite active! We found the first pod by the leaps some of them were making- at least 10 feet in the air!
The minke whales were in the area too but were not showing much of themselves. We got a few quick looks before they went down. As we have been seeing, every day is a different day on Jeffreys Ledge. What will tomorrow bring??
