July 25 on the Atlantic Queen

What a day!  We were lucky enough to see one of the rarest whale species on Earth - the North Atlantic right whale - and we saw 3 of them!  The sighting included a mom and calf and a single adult, all traveling fairly close to each other.

It's estimated that there are only about 400-425 North Atlantic right whales left in the world - so we considered ourselves so fortunate to have this sighting, especially since many of the right whales who've migrated up to the Gulf of Maine for the summer are likely far north of us off the coast of Canada!

Just goes to prove that every day is very different, and we never know what we're going to find out in the Gulf of Maine!
