We left Rye Harbor and headed towards the shoals and found our first whale of the day, a friendly, curious Finback whale. This whale was enormous! We often tell our passengers how big these animals are but until you witness it with your own two eyes you can't imagine the size. This Fin whale spent alot of time with us and came up very close a number of times. We never over stay our welcome and followed more blows in the area, which totaled 5 Finback whales! As we continued exploring we found this hungry Humpback whale. This whale is a calf of Anvil and was born in 2009. This animal does not have a name yet. It takes a couple of years for the pigmentation to become permanent on the underside of the tail. The calf was alot of fun to spend time with!
