Saturday's Atlantic Queen Trip

It was nice to have lots of action today - got out to an area close to Jeffreys Ledge and saw our first fin whale, and then had a blue shark swim close to the boat!  Soon after we saw more fin whales, and ended up with 5 in total for the trip. We also saw another blue shark!

At one point, one of the fin whales surfaced right near the boat - that's always an awe-inspiring sight. I just love watching fin whales - even after all these years whale watching, it's hard to fit my mind around the fact that there's this animal 60 feet (or longer) cruising so gracefully right next to us.  Seeing a fin whale that close takes my breath away nearly every time.

Thanks to those who joined us today!
