July 22, Captain's Lady III

Minke Mania today on the Ledge! Seems every where we looked, we were surrounded by minke whales!  At first they were a bit shy (or probably just busy feeding) but then we got some really great looks at them.

As I mentioned, minke whales are not endangered yet, but are still being hunted by a few countries. We were lucky to see at least 5 of them today!

Cool markings!
We got some great ID images of a few of the minkes today to contribute to our catalog- in our attempt to learn more about this under-studied species!

Thanks to all of our great passengers today!  We hope to see you back on another adventure!
