Atlantic Queen August 11

Yesterday kept some off the boats on the dock due to winds and predicted storms so we were unsure what today had in store for us as far as whales go.  Most of the sightings have happened on the southern part of the ledge, taking us off the coast  of Cape Ann Massachusetts.  We started the day with a minke whale who was spending alot of time traveling.  Our patience paid off and we found "Crystal"
Spout from Crystal
Crystal's fluke
Harbor seal

Crystal's mom , Salt is a pretty famous whale in The Gulf of Maine, Crystal was her first calf and she had her last in 2010.  Crystal has come to be pretty well known as well, a children's book was written about Crystal,we also had a cute harbor seal pop up as we started for our way back to Rye Harbor.
